PRINT WORKSHOP drop-in classes with Philip Gibbs are on Saturdays during term time. These cost £125 for a ticket of 5 half day sessions. Morning sessions are 10am-12.30pm and afternoons 1.30-4pm and you can buy a ticket in advance online or from the office when you first visit. STILL LIFE PAINTING WITH OILS 10am-4pm every Saturday with tutor Daniel Shadbolt. More details of the course and how to enrol can be found in the Day and Evening Classes section.
Also on Saturday is PORTRAIT PAINTING. Allan Ramsay will help you to develop an understanding of the art of portrait painting in oils with the opportunity of exploring the long pose over several weeks. Drawing the head and figure will also enhance your understanding of relevant aspects of human anatomy. This course is particularly suitable for those with some basic experience of drawing and oil painting but beginners are also very welcome.
A FOUNDATION IN DRAWING, PAINTING AND PRINTMAKING Six Saturdays 31st January - 6th March 2016 with David Stubbs - a program of one day exercises and short projects devised to develop your skills in drawing, painting and printmaking. The range of drawing and painting media to be explored during each term will include charcoal, pastel, watercolour and oil paint and printmaking processes such as drypoint, monoprint and etching. The course is suitable for beginners but is also appropriate for more experienced artists who are unfamiliar with printmaking techniques and are seeking to learn new ways of working. It could also be used to develop a portfolio to support an application to more advanced and specialist course. Fees £275.
Claire Ireland will be running a six week course in CERAMIC SCULPTURE mornings only from 10am-1pm starting 9 January 2016 fees £200.
