Valdes Art Workshops obtain nationally renowned professional instructors. Workshop participants come from all over the United States and other countries to attend the courses and explore the variety of arts available in this well-established art community.
Santa Fe is located in New Mexico's high desert at an altitude of 7, 000 feet. Days can be quite warm, afternoon showers are common in mid to late summer, and evenings are cool. A few commercial flights come into Santa Fe, but most visitors fly into Albuquerque, 55 miles to the south, and rent a car or take an airport shuttle to Santa Fe. The city offers eight major museums, 150 art galleries, opera, chamber music, flamenco, and a host of other cultural opportunities. Other nearby recreational options include hiking, fishing, golf and camping. Indian pueblos, archaelogical sites, and small mountain villages make for outstanding sightseeing and an introduction to the area's rich history.
