L’Age Baston is a beautiful, friendly Château in South West France that provides relaxing holiday courses. Once home to generations of Counts and Countesses, it soaked up sunshine and history for over seven hundred years and then ‘fell to the English‘.

The owners; Alexandra and John, breathed new life back into the house. Saving, restoring and creating an idyllic setting for our unique combination of holiday courses in France.

You can come on a Painting course or improve your French Language with one of our two French Language Courses. Enjoy a week learning about French Country Cooking (and eating and drinking), or stride off on Guided Walks into the clean air and green of the Charente Countryside.

It’s fine if you choose to come on your own (no single supplement), or you come with a friend or partner doing a different course to you. Your Partner or Friend could even come to do absolutely nothing at all. Nothing, naturally except to enjoy the same fine food, good company, spacious rooms and tranquil surroundings as everybody else.

Our practical course is based on tried and tested recipes. In the working Kitchen with Alexandra you’ll get both the theory and practise of French Country Cooking. You can take delight in the dishes you create, and take home your recipes and delicious memories.
