Art Workshops in Italy
with Nora Venturelli
“Umbria: Sole e Terra” is a summer landscape painting and drawing workshop designed to help artists of all levels strengthen their sense of observation and to convert their observations into successful works. Instruction and demonstrations will include various mediums, materials, and techniques; students can work in the medium of their choice and are encouraged to experiment! Photographers will find plenty to learn and are encouraged to join!
Each day will bring you a new site, a new experience in the magnificent and serene landscape of Umbria. We will explore quiet hilltop towns, all overwhelmingly medieval in their character, and bear witness to the long rich history of the region. Umbria – the “Green Heart of Italy” – is also known for its rolling hills, vineyards, olive groves, sunflower fields, and amazing cuisine.
The principal focus of this workshop is based on the individual needs of each student. Demonstrations are presented on-site and are followed by in-studio exercises, visual presentations, and group discussions on a daily basis. Discussions on composition, design, color, color mixing, and application are incorporated into every demonstration.
